Check the whole intended use period
For a task that requires qualification, ToolCustody checks that the accepted scope and dates cover the planned use. A gauge due during that period is stopped before handover, even if it is sitting in the right crib.
Keep the source and the decision
Retain supported service documents privately. A named authorised reviewer records what was accepted, for which tool and scope, and for which dates. An uploaded file or a return from a service provider does not automatically qualify the gauge.
Keep laboratory responsibilities clear
ToolCustody records custody and reviewed qualification. It does not run calibration methods, calculate measurement uncertainty or certify a gauge. Start with an agreed non-safety-critical trial and your existing qualified review process.
Trials are by invitation and start with one agreed workflow. Scope and arrangements are agreed with you before access.
